PROFILE:
Following MPHS, I attended the University of Arkansas, where I received my undergraduate degree in business. With that in hand, I then went on for my MBA from DePaul University in Chicago.
I worked in sales 9 years for Trans World Airlines (TWA), beginning in NYC.
From 1965 thru 1968, I lived in Boston; then in Columbus, Ohio from '68 to '71; and have been in Chicagoland ever since.
My career has let me travel the world from the Hawaii to the Himalayas, the Holy Land in Israel to Saudi Arabia. Rome, London. Paris are places to which I would love to return. I've blessed to see the Cape of South Africa, Victoria Falls, go on Safari & many other adventures. Best job I ever had.
Made career change to Marketing Research & became VP of a strategy group until 1991, when I started my own research company and operated it for 9 yrs.
Since 2000, I've worked in various sales positions with not-for-profit colleges, recruiting students into culinary careers.
I officially retired 2006. However, unofficially, for the past 6 years I have been teaching chess to kids in after-school programs across the greater Chicago area.
I have one son in Arkansas, three grandchildren & and one great grandchild (whew!)
I have two daughters living in Chicago, and one grandchild by the oldest daughter, who is an attorney; my younger daughter is a teacher.
You just never know where life is going to lead you but it sure has been a great ride... !
88. MOORE, Ron -- now deceased
Ron 1961 Ron 2018
Our friend Ron passed away on December 6, 2018, at age 75, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He passed peacefully while surrounded by his family.
Born in 1943 in Paterson, NJ, Ron graduated from Midland Park High School, Class of 1961. He had resided in Prospect Park, NJ, before moving to Hawthorne, NJ, then to Brewster, NY, and most recently to Buena, NJ.
He attended Yale University after joining the Air Force in 1964 and acted as both a Voice Intercept Operator and Intelligence Operations Specialist during his service, which took him to San Antonio, TX, Omaha, NE, and Taipei, Taiwan. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and became a warehouse foreman and operations manager for Aetna Chemical in Elmwood Park. He briefly held a position as warehouse manager for Liberty Travel in Ramsey, NJ, until his retirement in 2009.
Survived by his two children (Ron, and Beth) and four grandchildren, Ron was known for his love of music and for the way he passionately followed his favorite baseball team, the San Francisco Giants. He was a kind and gentle man; his humor and kindness will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
Ron was laid to rest in the Community Cemetery of Monroe, NY.
