PROFILE:
" I grew up and got my BS degree (1965, Industrial Engineering, Newark College of Engineering), joined the US Navy and saw the world as a radio DJ (the voice of Shangri-La CVA-39). After I got out of the Navy I started hanging around with my “old gang” and shortly thereafter my parole officer suggested I move out-of-state for a “fresh start".
I moved to the Atlanta area where I had relatives. Within 5 weeks of relocating, 2 great things happened that changed my life forever:
(1) I met Jesus Christ and accepted him into my life, and
(2) HE provided me with an angel ! I fell love and married this angel (Faye and I are going on 43rd year of our honeymoon !
I went to night school at Georgia State University (Atlanta), under the GI Bill, and got my MBA in Management (with enough credits for 2nd MBA in International Business in 1971).
I put in 20+ years working as contracted interim plant/warehouse manager for a variety of firms who moved their operations into the North GA area (turn-key contract -- oversaw building construction, equipment installation, hired first employees, ran operation until their management moved South). Got bit by the computer-bug and switched over to being a software systems implementation project manager. Then for 10+ years I worked out of Atlanta for IBM, Ryder Systems, American Software, Logility Systems, CMAC Logistics, and Garr Consulting..…teaching project teams how best to implement new system solutions in a way that end-users really enjoy using the new technology vs. just looking at the dust collect on the software manuals.
Some 9 years ago I began teaching online college courses for the University of Phoenix (economics & accounting). Since my retirement I'm still teaching part time for the Univ of Phoenix both online and at their Birmingham (Alabama) campus location. UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2014: After 12 years of teaching college classes -- my teaching contract has now ended.
My hobbies are "family" activities with my 4 children and 13 grand children....plus just "goofing off" with my best pal (who also happens to be my wife).
