Our classmate, Russell Jack Potter, was born in Teaneck NJ on June 15, 1943, to Russell D. and Charlotte (Jones) Potter.
As a long-time resident of Waldwick, he attended high school in nearby Midland Park, graduating in 1961. He then studied marketing at Fairleigh Dickinson University after which he served as a procurements specialist with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Later he became a manager at Lord & Taylor's department store in Paramus.
In September 1968, he married Miss Claude Simone Mascetti, a graduate of Hackensack High School. She had also attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and -- at the time they were married -- was a member of the sales force with Lord & Taylor.
In 1974 they were living in Little Ferry NJ.
Russell died on April 5, 2010, at the age of 66. He was living in Rochelle Park, NJ.
At the time of his passing, he was survived by his daughters Jeanette (Potter) DeGennaro and Shannon Potter; his grandchildren Claudia and Vincent DeGennaro; and his sisters Emma (Potter) Curry, and Helen Potter of South Carolina.
Interment is in George Washington Memorial Park.
