117. SHEARD, Patricia J. ("Pat") --- now deceased (May 10, 1999)
1961
Our classmate, Patricia Jean Sheard, was born on December 13, 1943, in Elizabeth, NJ, to Don and Jean Sheard. Pat grew up in Waldwick, NJ, where her mother, Jean (a graduate of the Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in London) taught gourmet cooking in her home. Pat loved to travel, and in 1958, while in high school, spent some time in Bermuda. Pat was an active participant in many activities during her high school years, as evidenced by the list of her activities shown above.
In 1998, she lived in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. She worked in medical research. She was an avid gardener, an expert birder, a devotee of nature in all its forms. She was a lifetime member of OrigamiUSA.
At the all-too-early age of 55, Pat died at her home in Hatboro on May 9, 1999. She was at that time engaged to marry George Kurt Reimer. Pat was survived by her mother, Jean Sheard; by her two brothers, Tim Sheard (and his wife Mary Lonegran), and Thomas Sheard; and by two nephews, Matthew and Christopher Sheard.
A memorial service for Pat was held on May 22 at the Glen Rock (NJ) Arboretum, a place she loved.
