PROFILE:
Right after High School I worked as a teller at the 1st National Bank of Allendale (Waldwick Branch), until the merge with Citizens First National Bank of Ridgewood where I became Branch Manager (Upper Saddle River Branch) until 1966.
In 1964, I joined the US Army Reserves, Company C, 310 Regiment, 78th Training Division and left as SSG E-6 in 1970.
In 1966, I became a police officer with the Upper Saddle River Police Department and, after serving for 25 years, retired in 1991 as a Lieutenant 2nd in command. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Mercy College in New York & many courses with the Bergen County Police & Fire Academy. Continued on with my education at the FBI National Academy, Quantico, Virginia, 140th Session. While on the Police Department, I was affiliated with the Upper Saddle River Fire Department, Ambulance & Rescue Squad and became a Firearms Instructor with the Bergen County Police & Fire Academy. During that time I received many awards & citations and would do it all over again exactly the same way.
In 1991, Sandy and I moved to North Carolina. Initially, I tried to work by owning a sports memorabilia store which was fun but time consuming; I preferred to play golf and boat on the Inter-coastal Waterway, which I did for 17 years.
In 2007 we moved to Wake Forest, NC, to be near our daughter in Raleigh and our son in Virginia Beach. Don’t you all wish you were me -- retired at 48, healthy & wealthy, and still enjoying the benefits that life brings? !
